BOARD MEETING November 29, 2012
The board meeting was called to order by President Jerry Zimowske at 10:05 p.m. at Orchard Creek Lodge. Board Members present were Jerry, Sherrill Slotsve, Carl Lee, Cal Meissen, Loretta Halpin, Sandy Hamer, Sherry Mosby, and Cheryl Lane. 109 members were also present.
The first order of business was the election. Candidates for the 3 positions were introduced. Election of Officers: Quorum is present. Ballots were collected and counted by Sherry Mosby and Marta Holm. The 3 winners were: Scott Sutherland, President, Bill McCullough, VP, and Glenise Cunningham, Treasurer.
Cheryl Lane announced the Christmas Party, on December 5th, signup deadline is Dec. 1st. The minutes of the last meeting were approved by all board members.
Treasurers Report: The checking account contains $7,380.71, and the savings account $2601.00. That includes the xmas money which will go back out to pay for the party. The association will eventually collect the $7,000 that was committed toward fencing on the new courts.
Training Report: There were no trainees this week and the last few weeks have been light, but beginners are still showing up.
Membership Report: Currently we have 299 paid members and we should be over 300 by end of year. This compares to last year where we ended the year at 253 members.
A motion was made by Loretta Halpin and seconded by Carl Lee to make a change to Article 7 of the clubs bylaws. The following sentence was proposed to be deleted. LINCOLN HILLS RESIDENTS WHO JOIN DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR SHALL PAY THE FULL DUES. THOSE JOINING DURING THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR SHALL PAY ONE-HALF OF THE NORMAL DUES.
The motion also called for the following replacement sentence. DUES PAID IN THE MONTHS OF OCTOBER, NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER WILL BE COUNTED CURRENT FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR.
The motion was then passed unanimously by the board and then passed overwhelming by a show of hands form the membership.
A motion was then made by Loretta Halpin and seconded by Sherrill Slotsve to maintain dues for 2013 at the current level of $15.00. The board then passed the motion unanimously and then passed overwhelmingly by a show of hands from the membership.
Mona thanked everyone who contributed for bottle and can collection. She asked that bags be kept out of site or Call Mona to pick up. $500 has been earned so far from these collections.
Court update: Plans are in the hands of the architect. The club will have the right to review these plans before they go out to bid. The plans should be back in about a week.
Kathy Adams asked everyone to thank all volunteers for the Ladders, Tournaments, and the Board.
